We have waited a long time (28 Years) to put Alan`s Memorial on this website and feel now is the
time! The Monster that did this horrible thing is now Dead, this was confirmed by the Police so i
know he can`t come on here and gloat or get any kind of wierd satisfaction.Alan was a lovely 6 Year
Old who did not deserve to Die the way he did.The Response from eveyone who has paid tribute to our
Son has been nothing short of humbling to Liz and Myself and we thank you all from the bottom of our
hearts. Thank You All so Much. xxxxx

Alan had been out with his Mum and her Friend all day shopping, He was allowed out to play with his
little friend for an hour or so while his Dad slept after working Nightshift. His Dad asked Mum to
get him in and set off for work. A girl said she had seen a body and his Mum just knew it was Alan;
she carried her Baby Alex 100ft to the next block of Flats and found Alan Dead in a Bin alcove
beside a doorway. The Monster that lived there was arrested and charged with Alan’s "Unlawful
Killing" It turned out he had sexually assaulted and asphyxiated him.

The Police started a murder Inquiry and a Man was remanded on "unlawful Killing" Later to be
Manslaughter, we were promised he would get Life in Prison in a Private Meeting from the Det Chief
Insp. Turned out the Judge said "I believe you didn’t mean to harm that Child" (No mention of the
Sexual Attack) He sentenced the Paedophile to 5 Years! We were stunned and I was thrown out of Crown
Court for protesting the disgraceful sentence.

The Det Chief Insp and I never met again, He was that ashamed. The Beast was told to keep out of
North Shields on his release for his own safety by the Police and he later died from an "Incident"
in Manchester two years ago.

We still live in North Shields with Daughter Alex(28) and Son Andrew(23)

The Dragonfly

A Parable Describing Death As A Transition to A Better Afterlife

-The Story of the Dragonfly-

Alan, i just want to say that 'The story of the Dragonfly' is one of the most beautiful and apt storys that i have read for a long time. Ive sat here thinking for at least 25 minutes about the meaning and it brought a lump to my throat, so now im typing words. I have also lost someone to murder and I cant say how i really feel in words just like yourself. Its been 20 years now for me, god thats a long time, but it never goes. I know, i cant feel your grief but i have an understanding. God bless you and your family, Jacqueline Robson (nee Fairlamb)

A Parable Describing Death As A Transition to A Better Afterlife

-The Story of the Dragonfly-

Down below the surface of a quiet pond lived a little colony of water bugs. They were a happy colony, living far away from the sun. For many months they were very busy, scurrying over the soft mud on the bottom of the pond. They did notice that every once in a while one of their colony seemed to lose interest in going about with its friends. Clinging to the stem of a pond lily, it gradually moved out of sight and was seen no more.

"Look!" said one of the water bugs to another. "One of our colony is climbing up the lily stalk. Where do you suppose she is going?" Up, up, up it went slowly. Even as they watched, the water bug disappeared from sight. Its friends waited and waited but it didn't return. "That's funny!" said one water bug to another. "Wasn't she happy here?" asked a second water bug. "Where do you suppose she went?" wondered a third. No one had an answer. They were greatly puzzled.

Finally one of the water bugs, a leader in the colony, gathered its friends together. "I have an idea. The next one of us who climbs up the lily stalk must promise to come back and tell us where he or she went and why." "We promise," they said solemnly.

One spring day, not long after, the very water bug who had suggested the plan found himself climbing up the lily stalk. Up, up, up he went. Before he knew what was happening, he had broken through the surface of the water, and fallen onto the broad, green lily pad above.

When he awoke, he looked about with surprise. He couldn't believe what he saw. A startling change had come to his old body. His movement revealed four silver wings and a long tail. Even as he struggled, he felt an impulse to move his wings. The warmth of the sun soon dried the moisture from the new body. He moved his wings again and suddenly found himself up above the water. He had become a dragonfly.

Swooping and dipping in great curves, he flew through the air. He felt exhilarated in the new atmosphere. By and by, the new dragonfly lighted happily on a lily pad to rest. Then it was that he chanced to look below to the bottom of the pond. Why, he was right above his old friends, the water bugs! There they were, scurrying about, just as he had been doing some time before. Then the dragonfly remembered the promise: "The next one of us who climbs up the lily stalk will come back and tell where he or she went and why."

Without thinking, the dragonfly darted down. Suddenly he hit the surface of the water and bounced away. Now that he was a dragonfly, he could no longer go into the water. "I can't return!" he said in dismay. "At least I tried, but I can't keep my promise. Even if I could go back, not one of the water bugs would know me in my new body. I guess I'll just have to wait until they become dragonflies too. Then they'll understand what happened to me, and where I went." And the dragonfly winged off happily into its wonderful new world of sun and air

As The Sun Came Up This Morning
I Watched You There Below
Your Hearts Seemed Oh So Heavy
But There’s Something You Should Know
I’m Not Gone Don’t Worry
I’m Just A Step Ahead
And I’m With You Every Single Day
As You Rise Up From Your Bed
I Am The Sun That Warms You
I Am The Moon’s Soft Glow
I Am The Stars That Twinkle
And Light Your Path Below
So When At Times You Miss Me
Just Look For Me I’m There
For You Cannot Hide My Spirit
It Is With You Everywhere.

For the love of Alan

Waiting at the Door
I can’t explain so deep inside
The very fabric of my soul
Only a heart that grieves such loss
Can ever truly understand

It’s like you’re waiting at the door
Until a loved one comes back home
You feel a longing in your heart
When they appear the longing stops

But in a loss that never ends
You’re always standing at that door
You feel the longing in the breeze
So incomplete and never filled

I cannot find the words to say
Just what it’s like to want forever
Never seeing them again
Just always waiting at the door
